They re-capture efficiency loss for both producers and consumers while promoting better privacy, security and transparency. They will change the way that we view record keeping and ownership of private property. They will break down social and geo-political economic borders and trade barriers. They will change the way we vote and how we fund "public goods". They will allow micro-payments directly between electronic devices which will shape the "internet-of-things".
Distributed Ledgers & Smart Contract Technologies will decentralize, disrupt, destroy, re-shape, and create entirely new industries much the same way that the internet changed the news and print industries, among countless others.
